  1. How big is the Corner Pop-Up?

The Corner Pop-Up offers 968 square feet of retail space

 

  1. How much does it cost to participate?

The space is available at no cost to businesses who are selected.

 

  1. How long are businesses allowed to operate in the Pop-Up?

3-5 consecutive weekends (Thursday-Monday)

 

  1. What are Pop-Up Hours?

Hours will vary from business to business. We will work with you to identity the best operating hours for your business.

 

  1. How are businesses selected?

Strong proposals will include:

  • Creative experiences
  • Well thought out marketing plan
  • Unique and well-crafted products, items, and/or services

 

  1. How do I apply?

A request for proposals will be released in early 2020. Businesses who are interested in applying are encouraged to complete our interest form.

 

  1. What type of businesses can apply?

The space is designed to support micro businesses who are looking to grow into a brick and mortar in the next 1-2 years. We are looking for a mix or product and service-based businesses who are interested in testing out their concepts. Pop-Up businesses cannot sell/serve cannabis or alcohol, prepare food on site or offer massage services.

 

  1. Do I need a business license?

Yes, a short-term business license is required. $131.77 licensing fee applies.

 

  1. My business is outside of Long Beach, can I apply?

We are currently only accepting applications from Long Beach based businesses.

 

  1. What type of support will I receive?

You will have access to a network of technical assistance providers who offer support with marketing, business planning, access to capital, and more.

  1. Can I share the space with another business?

Yes! If you are interested in partnering with another local business, please include your idea(s) on your proposal. Businesses will need to submit separate proposals.
